Must Have Mods

Mods WILL break every time there is a patch. While EA is very mod friendly, they consistently update at least once a month. Every time the game updates, something will potentially and inevitably break - particularly UI mods.
READING INSTRUCTIONS IS IMPORTANT. This cannot be stressed enough. You are responsible for what goes into your Mods Folder. There are mods out there that are quite complex and have a lot of modules - make sure you know what you’re getting into!
Don’t blindly download every single mod that you see! Just downloading a bunch of things without seeing if they’re compatible or checking the dates is a guaranteed way to errors or your game not even opening.
DON’T DOWNLOAD MOD FOLDERS. It’s very tempting to just download a folder full of mods and CC and jump right into playing, because downloading them one by one is indeed time consuming. But mod folders are an extremely BAD IDEA. It’s an excellent way to get

Malware 2) Broken, outdated mods 3) Mods & CC that are vile and will get you banned in most major discord servers. Often, CC folders will also have things randomly merged as well. Do you really want to end up asking Reddit why your sims all have differently sized heads? Yeah, didn’t think so. 😉

You WILL need to make sure your files are organized. Sims 4 Mods need to be maintained. If you cannot keep up with the maintenance every patch, then it’s highly suggested that you don’t play with mods at all. Having an organized Mod Folder will make troubleshooting & finding broken stuff, and deleting stuff that much easier.
