Hold up, what do these terms mean??
Maxis Match = Custom Content that matches the cartoony style of the Sims 4, often edited or “franken-meshed” from EA assets
Maxis Mix = Custom Content that still matches the cartoony style but often have higher quality details that push it towards Alpha Content, often blends well for both styles. Sometimes it can look more Maxis Match, other times more Alpha.
Alpha = This term originally came from a Sims 3 method of creating hair that used alpha channels but has since evolved into meaning “non-maxis match” content, which varies from hyper realistic to very detailed and often high poly content.
