Old versions definitely create duplicates that start with [D1] and bloat your computer quickly without you realizing it.
Even if you use it to view items, they don’t always show if there’s a broken mesh or generate proper thumbnails
Mod Managers can and will “update” your files to an old version of the mod if the mod itself is not updated on curseforge - since they have an approval system. Many mods do not get updated immediately and so you can end up with outdated mods, or parts of a mod that you have deliberately removed and more. </aside>
